"The Church needs more number of Ex -Seminarians"

Perhaps, we would strongly disagree on this syllogism about why the Church needs more number of ex-seminarians. Whereas, our stand would be that the Church needs increased number of pious and dedicated priests. What do we have to do with these ex-seminarians and what good would come from them?

The syllogism "Church needs more number of ex-seminarians" is said in the context that it is a great force within the Catholic Church, which could be used for greater things and glory of the church, but still remains untapped force. The current ex-seminarian was once upon a fellow seminarian of the priest in the Church and most of them could be equally talented and smart as our priests perhaps even smarter and cleverer. Because all of them were inducted to seminary after strict security and examination.

We are "Technologically Sick"

When we boast about technological advancements and how they all have altered our life and put us all on a fast track mode, there is another side that how we are badly affected by the excess use of them. These technologies make us glued to them, and make us all addicted to them.

We all know that much debated topic about how much the rays from mobile towers are causing cancer, and though mobile tower companies refute the argument, there is a popular belief that they do cause cancer.

Who are the real encroachers of the land, humans or animals??

Whenever elephant or leopard intrude into human habitats we make a big news out of it, with the headline 'wild animal encroached human habitat' but who has actually encroached the land, the animals or we human beings?

If animals had their newspapers, what would have been the headline?  Elephant who visited the encroached land of his ancestors was terribly injured by human beings. The elephant was there just to quench its hunger, it had no intentions to attack any human being.

Those who serve become richer and richer and the served poorer and poorer

What an irony it is, politicians 'serving the public' enjoy all luxury, comfort and becoming richer and richer and the plight of the 'served public' is getting worse and worse and the politicians still proclaim they serve the general public.

There are many others platforms like social work, nursing, running charity institutions like orphanage and old age homes etc. to literally serve the general public, but the number of people joining political parties is swelling as it gives power and money at the same time. Politicians who are supposed to serve the general public are being served.

Some are canonised to be saints but others are always......

I have always been puzzled with the thought that whether there could be saintly people who have lived or living in Catholic Church who could not get through the whole process of canonisation in order to be officially declared Saints. Are there any such saintly persons who are left out without being canonised?

If you could count on the number of saints in Catholic Church, majority of them are from Western Countries. St. Thomas, one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus, is conventionally believed to have landed in India in AD 52 and baptised several people, founding what is known today as Saint Thomas Christians or Nasranis. Therefore, the Eastern Church Christians had been equally privileged to have received Christian faith from one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus and share the ‘Experienced Christ.’

Is there anything like ‘The Life Partner’?

The options for one to choose his/her life partner are very limited. The potential bride or bride groom can operate only within one’s geography area, religion and its sub division, educational and social background, profession, salary credited in his bank account, height, weight and physical fairness all that. When all those criteria are considered, the options for one to choose from are very limited.

The law that does not let the Good Samaritan within us act

Man was born free but he is wrapped in the web of laws and regulations and he is just living a life in accordance with the existing customs and traditions. The laws are made for the wellbeing and harmonious function of the society but what if the law does not let the Good Samaritan within us act, sending the negative ripples in the society.

Let the judges abide by their own verdict

When a verdict is pronounced by a judge, being seated in the comfort and luxury of a well air-conditioned courtroom, he may not know the objective truth of the reality that is affecting a large section of society. In most of the cases, the judges are far alienated from the reality and never be able to connect to the people, who will be always in the receiving end of the catastrophe that is about to hit. In the light of the Mullaperiyar verdict pronounced by the judges, what I strongly feel is that the judges should set an example by abiding by their on verdict.

Fortune told about likely to miss the route whereas misfortune told unlikely to miss the route

Basically, we Indians are superstitious irrespective of the religion we follow; whether it be Hinduism, Islam or Christianity, geographical area where we live in. I think superstition is something that is deep there in our blood. We strongly feel that if the fortunes that are about to happen in our life are told about to someone it is likely to miss the route, whereas the misfortunes that are about to hit us even if it is told about to thousands of people it is unlikely miss its route.

Probably, making others happy would be the supreme virtue we can practice

Whatever we do, whatever profession we are into, wherever we live, ultimately what we are craving for is happiness. Perhaps, making people in and around us happy would be the best virtue we can ever practice in our daily life. In the competitive world, in order to be happy we are constantly in a race to make money, luxury and comforts however, the irony is that we end up living an unhappy life.
