Passion for tele serial made 75-year old grandmother internet savvy

Of late, the life of Kerala women is revolving around tele serials that is being telecasted on prime time - 7PM to 9PM, from Monday to Saturday. They would wrap up all their domestic works, finish the bath and would be there ready in front of the television set at sharp 7PM.

From 7PM to 9PM, men in the family wouldn't have any voice for TV remote control, as women take control of it. Sometimes, telecast related issues, hiccups in the cable connection or interrupted power supply prevent the women from watching their favourite tele serials. In this technological era women find alternative ways to enjoy their regular tele serials despite these impediments. 

Mrs. Elsy Joseph, a 75-year old grandmother, was quick to act up on this, compared to her tele serial loving counterparts because of her intense passion for her favourite tele serivals. She managed to get not just one tab, but two (Samsung Galaxy Tab and iBall Slide Cuddle  A4) to watch her favourite tele serials. While watching tele serial in one tab through the Hotstar App, she would put the other tab for charging.

She not only watches tele serials in her tab, instead uses it for her daily prayers, watches preachings by priests, adoration, news and devotional songs and log into social media networking sites.

Though initially, she found it difficult to navigate through, now she is a master of it. Sometime later, her grandchild gifted her with a new smartphone. Now she is into Whatsapp connecting with her relatives, grandchildren in India and abroad through voice messages and video calls. She has a Facebook account and is busy reconnecting with her relatives and old friends and now she is well connected with them.

Now she has completely shifted her tele serial watching to tab. According to her "Watching tele serials in tab is awesome, and indeed time saving as there is no ad, if there is, i can skip the ad. If I need to watch a few old episodes of the tele serials, i can watch them. I can watch it any time, if there is anything else to be done i can pause it and watch it anytime later."

She has some amount of regret that she couldn't get introduced to this new technology and convenient way of tele serial viewing earlier. Nevertheless, she is happy that at least now she could learn it all and have an effective use of the same.
