Perhaps, this is a puzzle that remains unanswered for a long time among laity, that while they invite catholic nuns, who are their close relation, for the baptism or marriage of their brother, sister, niece or nephew, etc. the nuns turn it down on grounds of not being allowed to attend such ceremonies. We hardly see any catholic nun attending sacraments such as baptism or marriage, when the whole religious life is centered on building up better christian families.

A Doctor who is so Motherly
In the scientifically and medically advanced world, the most debated topic is where humanity has gone. In the professional sphere, everyone seems to be so busy in carrying out their professional duty that little scope is left to be a humanitarian. Therefore, there are separate forums for doing charity and social works.
Dr. S. Jayalakshmi MD, Dip. NB, Chief Consultant Gynaecology & Laparoscopic Surgeon in Matha Hospital, Thellakom, Kottayam has been well balancing her professional duties and humanness while attending and meeting her patients.

"I am just over-sized"
The job of every security personnel demands them to be tough looking arrogant and ruthless. But it is all part of their profession and Zane Wilmans, Director of Protexx, who has been the security guard of Brett Lee while here in India for the Cochlear campaign, was perceived as no way different.
As I have been associated with Cochlear team for its media engagement programme for the past three years, I have been with the whole Cochlear team and also along with Zane. During the first campaign in 2017, i hardly spoke to Zane, being literally scared of the hefty man. During the second campaign in Trivandrum in 2018, i developed a greeting-each-other kind of relationship with him.
In the current 2019 campaign covering Kochi, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Irinjalakuda, in fact we became good friends. While being with a small group of Cochlear team he had fun and I had a few photo sessions while both of us were on a house boat on Vembanadu Lake.

The Fame being converted for a noble social cause
Each activity and media engagement organized for the cause - universal newborn hearing screening - is so thrilling like a T20 game with lots of energy and excitement. Former cricketer Brett Lee, the fastest bowler in the Australian cricket history and the 2nd fastest pacer of all time in the history of cricket, currently the Global Hearing Ambassador for Cochlear, is so passionate about the cause for which he has been there for quite sometime. Currently he has been travelling to Kochi, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Irinjalakuda from August 31 to September 03, 2019 spreading the awareness.
According to Brett Lee, "Cricket is over for me, now I want to dedicate my life for universal newborn hearing screening with the same dedication and zeal that I had for cricket in my life. If a cricket bat is given to every child in its childhood in India, why not newborn hearing screening is done for every child."

The Admiral who showed courage and determination only to abruptly abandon the ship
There has always been a
criticism about Rahul Gandhi that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth
and power has been bestowed upon him from above. It is true to a certain extent
that he did not come up from grass root level politics.
However, ever
since he was elevated as the President of Congress Party he had been

Outgoing Vicar leaves St. Joseph's Forane Church, Marika with nothing to desire for another decade
We live in an era, where we are concerned about the popularity of our leaders. Whereas most of the popular leaders are found in the political arena than among religious leaders, however, Rev. Fr. James Vararappilly is an exception to the law. He has been indeed a popular religious priest.
As the disciples preached the 'Experienced Christ' to the people, let me narrate the 'Experienced Fr. Vararappilly here. Being a catechism teacher, i could closely associate with him and had a rich experience of him.
Fr. Vararappilly is bestowed with great humour sense, people skills, welcomes everyone with a smile, and always lends his ears to listen to. After the principle of Pope Francis, Fr. Vararappilly is a priest for the unity among different Churches. As a result, he organized a combined carol programme at Marika and Vazhithala in collaboration with St. Thomas Jacobite Church and St. Antony's Knanaya Church.

digital era we can't sidestep the advantages and disadvantages that we are
confronted with. Everything has its merit and demerit and the meaningful use of

Why not the Church Act like Devaswom Board and Wakf board in place?
If there is accountability and transparency really existing in the Catholic Church why clergy is so much upset with the Church Act that is mooted by the government? According to the Holy Bible, Matthew 22:21, Jesus said "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." Preachers of the same gospel conveniently neglect giving the tax that belongs to the government, even when owning so many profit making institutions all run under charity.

Why has God created mosquitoes at all?
Though mosquito is a tiny
creature, the amount of harm it can cause is terrible, from sleepless nights, deadly
diseases to untimely death. Considering its size, the damage it could create is
totally out of proportion.
As a child I
used to think if God has created everything, then each being has to have a
purpose in His creation. So what was the purpose of mosquito? To poke us, to
spread diseases. Therefore, I couldn't believe that mosquitoes were really
created by God.
