Those who serve become richer and richer and the served poorer and poorer

What an irony it is, politicians 'serving the public' enjoy all luxury, comfort and becoming richer and richer and the plight of the 'served public' is getting worse and worse and the politicians still proclaim they serve the general public.

There are many others platforms like social work, nursing, running charity institutions like orphanage and old age homes etc. to literally serve the general public, but the number of people joining political parties is swelling as it gives power and money at the same time. Politicians who are supposed to serve the general public are being served.

If all the budget allocations and funds for various projects would have directly gone to the beneficiaries, how much ever the living conditions of the people in our land would have developed, and automatically our land too. After 68 years of independence, there is seemingly not much difference in the plight of people in rural areas and villages.

Unlike other countries, in India politics is a full time job for politicians. Majority of the politicians in India are uneducated, not knowing any other profession. All they know is to play dirty political tricks, and use cast (religion) as trump cards to win election and indulge in corruption to amass wealth for their party as well as for themselves.

If those who are serving the general public is becoming richer and richer year by year, politics is a big time money spinning business without much effort, integrity, educational qualification and everything is powered by the power that politics offers them. Still we call ours a democratic country.
