Are our teachers updated as much as Educational Apps?

Technology has not left any sphere untouched by its influence, the same is true with the educational sector. Perhaps, it is the sector that has witnessed so much of technological intervention in terms of providing effective learning tools for the students, thus, making the process of learning so much easy and effective.

Apps like Byju's Learning App, the leader in providing the most innovative, interactive and visually appealing educational content, cater to the learning needs of the new generation students, who are tech-savvy. When educational tools based on technology are actively promoted, the question is how much our teachers are updated in terms of innovation and novelty, to match with these new generation learning apps.

If students are increasingly using Learning Apps what would be future of the traditional method of teacher-imparted knowledge in the classrooms? Will classroom be a mere place where students come for minimum attendance, so that they could appear for the exam? The Learning App culture could even change the very nature of schooling culture and could lead to a private education system, where students enroll for exams and learn with the aid of learning apps at their own pace, being in the comfort that home can offer.

Now in this evolving learning culture, our teachers need to keep abreast of new scientific developments and knowledge base more than ever, to make classroom learning better. To be in par with moving times, teachers also should understand the kind of content and presentation (teaching) styles used in learning apps. If need be, teachers could imbibe some of the good teaching techniques from learning apps without loosing the originality of their teaching style.

If teachers still depend on traditional styles of teaching and refuse to come out of their comfort zone by not learning newer things, they would automatically become outdated. Along with the smarter and tech-savvy students, teachers should also be updated to remain afloat, to make themselves relevant in this era of innovations.
